This generously weighty liberty cap, also known as a "magic mushroom" has been carefully hand-carved out of wax and then cast in solid silver. The entire mushroom has been oxidised black and the surface gently polished back to silver, leaving the realistic details and textures visible.
This was so therapeutic to make, especially the little gills underneath the caps - those are my favourite tiny details!
Their characteristic wavy stems make these little autumn mushrooms look like they're having a little dance all by themselves.
